EUROPEAN DAY OF LANGUAGES
On 26th September, European Day of Languages is celebrated by schools, communities, individuals and companies across Europe and around the world. This European Union initiative celebrates linguistic and cultural diversity, and how fantastic it is to live in a multilingual and multicultural world.
It is incredible to think that in our school, through visiting international students and permanent local students we have 15 different nationalities and cultures in our school community! This is definitely a cause for celebration, so on Thursday 23rd September we celebrated European Day of Languages by holding mini language lessons in the sports hall at lunch. Students had lots of fun learning words and expressions in the many different languages their classmates speak. The event was hugely successful, so well done to all the students and teachers involved, and to Ms Martin for overseeing the event.
