CONNACHT CHAMPIONS!

Our senior footballers captured their first provincial crown since 2017 and their 4th during the last 10 years, as they overcame the challenge of Abbey Community College, Boyle. The game took place in the Connacht Centre of Excellence, despite the atrocious conditions posed by storm Dudley!

Our lads had previously navigated their way through four rounds of championship action to advance to the Connacht decider and had been improving their performances each week.

The opening half was a fiercely competitive affair and both teams were locked at 5 points each at the half time whistle. As the 2nd half got underway, our boys took full advantage of the weather conditions and pounced to net two early goals through Josh Carey and Rory Conway. Our captain, Brendan Conway was leading the charge and nailed a further 2 points as we began to take control of the contest. In the end, we ran out convincing winners claiming another Connacht title.

Our team now progress to an All-Ireland Semi Final where they will face Gallen Community School. The stage is set for 2:30pm on Saturday 26th February in the Connacht Centre of Excellence (Bekan).
