DAY 2 OF DEIS SEF PROJECT
Day 2 of the DEIS SEF Project between Belmullet NS, Corclough NS, and Our Lady’s Secondary School got off to a flying start with the students from both national schools trying their hand at engineering and creating their very own battery powered hovercraft.
The students then put their heads together for some rocket science, before taking to the football pitch to see whose water rocket could fly the highest.
We are excited to move on to the next phase of our DEIS SEF Initiative – which will see all three schools purchasing STEM centred IT equipment with some of the €55,000 budget that has been awarded for this project. This programme is aimed at 5th, 6th, and First Year classes to promote new areas of STEM learning in the continuity of a three year cycle.
A big thank you to Muinteoir Colin (6th Class Belmullet), Muinteoir Marissa (5th Class Belmullet), Annie Lynskey and Muinteoir Una (5th & 6th Corclough) for their cooperation and participation on the day.
